Clarendon School District Three is currently accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year.

1.  Parent Educator for Parents as Teachers Program

Job Purpose: To provide personal instruction, demonstrate appropriate educational activities; deliver research–based curriculum and curriculum materials to parents regarding children development and related issues. To conduct childhood screenings included but not limited to vision, hearing, the understanding and use of language, motor development, hand-eye coordination, health and physical development for children birth to age three.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor degree in Education, Human Services, or Social Sciences preferred;  AA in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience considered.  Applicants must have an Associates Degree or higher.  Experience as a parent educator preferred.  

2. Demonstrated ability to work with adults and their young children in an educational setting, preferably in an agency or school setting and through participating in home visits. Must be comfortable visiting families in their homes and delivering educational services in a non-judgmental manner.  Requires occasional stooping, bending, lifting and reaching.  Must have a valid SC driver’s license.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20-25 hours or work weekly.  Salary Range is $11,200 - $22,800 depending on education and experience.  The application deadline is August 22, 2017 at 4:00 pm.

2.  Part-Time 5th Grade Science Teacher

Job Purpose:  To provide standards based instruction and laboratory experiences to 5th grade students at Walker Gamble Elementary.  This position will required the maintenance of a science lab.  Applicants must have experience in the upper elementary and/or middle level grades teaching science.  Applicants need to be certified.  Individuals who are seeking certification or retired individuals who have lapsed certification will be considered.  Experience with inquiry-based instruction, project-based learning, science fair, Project Lead the Way, or other progressive science instruction methodologies is preferred.  

This is a grant funded position.   Salary is based on the Clarendon 3 teacher salary schedule but, will cap at available grant funding.  The application deadline is August 16, 2017 at 4:00 pm
