Fall 2015 Offerings

September 10, 2015 - Getting Googly With It - Come learn how to maximize Google Docs and Forms in your classroom.  Participants will learn how to utilize these applications effectively as professionals and as a form of instructional technology.  Attendees need to bring a short multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and/or true/false assessment from their class so they can learn how to create an online assessment....that gets graded by the computer.

October 8, 2015 - Engaging Students Electronically - Teachers rarely have the time to research what web-based programs are available and useful for their classrooms.  Teachers will learn how to use several free or low cost web-based applications in their classrooms.  Many of the sites only require the use of a Smartboard.  If participants have sites they already use, they are asked to share these at the workshop.

November 12, 2015 - Cracking the Code - As we prepared students to fit the profile of the SC College and Career Ready Graduate, all students need to have exposure to STEM based applications.  Teaching students basic computer code is an important skill in today's workforce. Even 5K students can learn the basics of code.  Come learn how to teacher your students a basic understanding of code so they can design computer programs and applications.  Your students will love to code and teachers will be amazed at how engaged they will be as learners.

December 10, 2015 - Literacy Skills in Content Areas - Come learn literacy strategies that can be used in all classrooms, especially science and math.  These strategies are designed to better engage your students and help them retain technical content.
